I got notice today that I passed the Sun Certified Security Administrator for Solaris 10 exam. I took the free beta exam (as I did for most of my Sun certifications actually), so I didn’t get a score report after the exam. So, since Pico went with me does that make her an SCSA too?

September 29, 2006O’Reilly Books
September 22, 2006For some random reason, I decided to register one of my new O’Reilly books today (actually I wanted to download source.) It was my first time registering books online, so they presented me with a form to register 15 books. I usually keep most of my O’Reilly books in the office and only the ones I use most often for personal or consulting projects at home. Since I’m doing only consulting gigs at this point, the majority of my books are in the boxes I brought them home from the office in (although I occasionally dig one out, check something and put it back). So I decided to register the ones I was using for my current projects (XML, XUL, php, javascript, MySQL) and those on the shelf near my computer – I easily filled the 15 slots with more books to register. I knew I had a LOT of O’Reilly books, but I didn’t think I had that many! Then again, I am a book geek!
Good Bye, Sagewire! Hello, WordPress!
September 11, 2006The preceding entries are all from my (lightly used) – Juli’s Journal on the late, mostly unlamented, sagewire.org (SAGE is the System Administrator’s Guild”; that the nice folks at SAGE have been hosting on blogs.sage.org since they shutdown sagewire. All my entries from sagewire are tagged “sagewire.” (Note: some of the links were lost in the conversion from sagewire to blogs.sage.org – I’ll fix them if I can find them again.)
I’ve been wanting to write more about my non-work projects and this seems like a better place to do that.
